You can design the most beautiful invitation in the world, and it will still arrive inside a WhatsApp message. The words around the link are what people read first, and most families write them at midnight, forty times, slightly differently each time.
Here are twelve messages you can copy, grouped by who they're for. Swap in your names and send your invitation link underneath.
A few rules first
- Put the link on a line of its own. WhatsApp turns it into a preview card with the picture and the title — that is what makes people tap.
- Name the person. "Assalam o Alaikum Khala" gets read. "Dear all" gets scrolled past.
- Say which functions. If someone is invited to the Walima only, the message should say Walima, not "the wedding".
- Keep it under six lines. The details belong on the card, not in the message.
For elders and close family (formal)
1. English, formal
Assalam o Alaikum Phupho,
With the blessings of Allah, we are delighted to invite you and your family to the wedding of our son Hamza with Areeba.
All the details of the functions are on the card below. Your presence and duas mean everything to us.

2. Roman Urdu, formal
Assalam o Alaikum Chacha Jaan,
Allah ke fazal se hamare betay Hamza ki shaadi Areeba ke saath tay pa gayi hai. Aap aur aap ki family ko dil se dawat hai.
Tamam functions ki tafseel neeche card mein hai. Aap ki shirkat aur duaon ka intezar rahega.

3. From the bride's family
Assalam o Alaikum,
Bari khushi ke saath aap ko apni beti Areeba ki shaadi ki dawat de rahe hain. Mehndi, Baraat aur Walima ki tafseel is card mein hai.
Aap ki shirkat hamare liye izzat ki baat hogi.

For the family group
4. One message, many people
Assalam o Alaikum everyone,
Alhamdulillah, Hamza and Areeba's wedding dates are set! 🎉
Please open the card below for every function, time and location. Each of you will also get a personal link with your own invitation.

If you send a group message, send the general link, and use private guest links for the people who are invited to some functions and not others. A group link that shows every function to everybody is how the Mehndi ends up with a hundred extra guests.
For friends
5. Casual, English
Hey Sara! It's finally happening 😄
Hamza and I are getting married and we'd love you there. Everything's on the card — Mehndi, Nikkah, Walima.

6. Roman Urdu, friends
Yaar finally shaadi ho rahi hai! 🎉
Tum ne zaroor aana hai. Saare functions ki details is link mein hain.

7. For a friend who lives abroad
Hi Bilal! I know it's a long way, but it wouldn't be the same without you.
The card has every date, and you can add each function straight to your calendar from it.

For colleagues
8. Office, polite
Dear Ahmed sahab,
I'm getting married on 5 December and would be honoured if you could join us for the Walima.
The card below has the time, the venue and directions.
[link]
Keep work invitations to the functions you actually want colleagues at — usually the Walima or the reception — and send them the link for that function only, so they never see a Mehndi they weren't asked to.
Reminders
9. A week before
Assalam o Alaikum! Just a reminder that the Mehndi is next Saturday, 7 PM.
The location and map are on the card — see you there, InshaAllah.

10. On the day
Today's the day! The Baraat is at Topaz Izmir Town at 7 PM.
Tap below for directions.

A digital invitation helps here: if a time or a venue changes, you edit the card once and every link you already sent shows the new details. You send a reminder, not a correction.
A polite follow-up
11. Asking for a headcount
Assalam o Alaikum Khala,
We're finalising arrangements for the Walima — could you let us know how many from your family will be joining?
Your seats are noted on your invitation.

12. A thank-you after the wedding
Assalam o Alaikum,
Thank you so much for being with us and for all your duas. It meant the world to both families.
JazakAllah khair. 🤍
Save yourself the typing
If you are sending to two hundred people, write the message once. On a Ceremonia card you set the message in your dashboard, and every guest's WhatsApp button fills in their name, their functions and their own link — you just press send. You can try any design with your names first, free, and see exactly what your guests will open.
